McCracken Alliance was founded by Mike McCracken, Chairman and CEO, and Julie McCracken, President, through the convergence of disciplines to create a way to build a stronger bond between industry and academia for the ultimate betterment of business, academia and students. Mike’s more than 30 year career in professional services at local, national and international roles with the then largest global professional services firm(Ernst & Young) and his entrepreneurial approach to building and executing unique business ideas such as being a Founder of Tatum LLC, which became the largest professional CFO firm in the US, laid the foundation to team with Julie whose 20 year career as a banking executive lead to a career in leadership development as a partner with RightPath Resources. By combining the leadership building concepts with the advantages of peer-to-peer networking, MA was launched.

Mike McCracken has been the founder of many companies throughout his career including McCracken Alliance, LLC (MA) which focuses on building business and leadership networks that foster peer-to-peer relationships, provide leverage through knowledge sharing and facilitate access to innovative value added business solutions. Previously, Mike was a founder of Tatum LLC, which became the first National Professional CFO Firm with annual sales of $200 million, and in 2010, merged with a $2.0 billion NYSE registrant. Earlier Mike formed an internet services provider which sold in the late 90’s for several million dollars. He was also a partner with Ernst & Young LLP in New York, reporting to the Chairman and CEO, after being a Regional Director of Marketing and Strategy for the seven-state SE Region during a reorganization period to introduce a specialized industry focus and merger with Arthur Young which created the largest professional services firm at that time. He served as coordinating partner on the team of professionals that designed the spin-off of Eastman Chemical Company, a $4.0 billion Fortune 500 manufacturer, from Eastman Kodak and was business development advisor to the member firm in Japan. Previously a CPA in four states and CMA, he has served on numerous boards including serving as a founding member of more than 10 university based leadership networks.
Julie McCracken is Co-Founder of McCracken Alliance and Co-Founder and President of McCracken Alliance LLC which operates the Leadership Talent Continuum focused on aiding organizations in building exceptional leadership teams. The Continuum includes leadership networks and programs sponsored by premier universities and other national organizations. Julie’s experience as both a corporate officer in the Fortune 500/1000 arena, and as an entrepreneur, give her a unique background in leadership and consulting with both individuals and organizations to aid them in setting themselves apart in the marketplace. Julie believes that companies, as well as the individuals that comprise organizations, need to recognize and leverage the strengths of their individual and collective brand. Julie’s career has included being a partner with RightPath Resources Inc., a Talent and Leadership Development Firm, after twenty years in Sales and Leadership in the Fortune 500 arena. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Julie has also cultivated strategic partnerships with other organizations to support their efforts in development one of which is UGA Terry College of Business, Georgia State University, Florida Atlantic University, Rollins College Crummer Graduate School, Ernst& Young, KPMG, Grant Thornton, and Financial Executives International, to name a few. University Advisors to the Networks
Harley E. Ryan, Jr. (Chip) is the SunTrust Professor of Capital Markets and associate professor of finance at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Professor Ryan has been at Georgia State since 2005 and was the associate dean for curriculum and teaching from 2014-2016, the assistant dean for flex and professional MBA programs from 2013-2014, and the coordinator of the finance Ph.D. program from 2005-2012.
Professor Ryan has a Ph.D. in finance and an MBA from Georgia State University, and a bachelor of electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Before joining Georgia State University, he was the Louisiana Department of Insurance professor and associate professor of finance at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA (1998-2005), assistant professor of finance at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts (1994-1998) and an instructor at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia (1992-1994). He also has been employed as a research assistant at Georgia State University (1989-1992) and as a sales engineer for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation (1983-1989).
Professor Ryan’s research interests span a wide array of topics in finance and capital markets including compensation and incentive systems, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, the role of financial intermediaries in corporate decision-making, capital investment decisions, and insurance. He has published papers in numerous journals and is a requested presenter at national and regional conferences such as the American Finance Association Meetings, the Western Finance Association Meetings, the European Finance Association Meetings, the Financial Management Association Meetings, and the Conference on Financial Economics and Accounting.
Dr. Gay's expertise is in the areas of investments and derivative markets. His research and professional interests center on the valuation of derivative instruments, their use by corporations, and the regulation of derivative markets. Dr. Gay has published over 50 articles including in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Business and Journal of Finance. Dr. Gay has served as the chief economist of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in Washington, D.C.
Professor Halil Kiymaz is Bank of America Chair and Professor of Finance at Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College. He also serves as the faculty director of Key Executive MBA Program. Before joining the Crummer School, Professor Kiymaz taught at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, Bilkent University, and the University of New Orleans. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has served as a grader for the CFA Institute.
Professor Kiymaz has consulting and training experience with various governmental and public organizations including the Central Bank of Turkey, Bankers Association, and Stalla, among others, He has been listed in various biographies including Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Who’s Who in Business Higher Education, Academic Keys Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, International Who’s Who of Professionals by Who’s Who Historical Society, and Marquis Who’s Who.
Professor Kiymaz received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Uludag University in 1985, his MBA in 1990, an MA in 1992, and a Ph. D. in 1994 from the University of New Orleans. He also earned his CFA charter in 2001 and has served as a grader at the CFA Institute. Professor Kiymaz has taught as visiting professor at the IMADEC University, School of International Business, Vienna, Austria, East Chinese University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, and Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Market Coordination Consultants
Lynne McCracken is a network project consultant supporting various McCracken Alliance Leadership with primary focus in Florida. She has extensive business experience in both a large corporate environment and in starting and growing a construction company into a multi-million dollar business. Her experience also includes serving as an Operations Manager at ATT, and Director of HR and Private Equity Specialist at Tatum LLC. Ms. McCracken is a graduate of Jacksonville University and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Georgia and in Florida. She holds accreditations as a Lead Abatement Contractor and NFA Series 3 Certification.
Marilyn is a Project Consultant for McCracken Alliance LLC and has extensive business experience in both large and small corporate environments. She has performed a wide variety of tasks during her career including general ledger work, preparing budgets and forecasts, maintaining a customer contract base and maintaining personnel files.
Prior to these engagements, Marilyn was engaged at Manpower, a world leader in innovative workforce solutions, as a remote executive assistant to a Global Vice President/General Manager. Marilyn has also provided remote C-suite administrative support for Tatum, LLC, the first National Professional CFO Firm in the nation, which merged in 2010 with a $2 billion NYSE registrant.
